Will & Personal Planning Guidance

Have questions about your current Will or estate planning documents, but are not ready to incur the cost of hiring a lawyer?  Or maybe you have been appointed under a Power of Attorney or Representation Agreement to assist a family member with their affairs, and don't know where to start.

We offer a paralegal-informed approach (never legal advice), including:

  • Document review and explanation of particular clauses therein (in simple terms, without the legal-ese)
  • Explanation of your duties & responsibilities when appointed to act under a Will, Power of Attorney, or Representation Agreement
  • Guidance on how to get a title search for your property to confirm type of ownership
  • General explanation of differences in Joint Tenancy and Tenants-in-Common

as well as providing professional guidance on any questions you may have about the estate planning process.

We direct you to the resources you may require in the most cost-effective manner, so you can feel empowered rather than pressured. We are here to help you get organized and on the right path.

Life Transitions & Care Planning Support

You're not alone. We provide gentle, empathy-based support during vulnerable situations, and encourage you to keep moving forward, while fostering peace and building a brighter future for yourself and your loved ones.

Often, when there is a decline in our own health, or when we get sudden news of a terminal diagnosis or death of a spouse, parent or loved one, it can trigger big emotions which can potentially shift family dynamics. These situations require careful planning and consideration as to respect all parties and ensure wishes are carried out.

Many of us do not know what resources or information is available when we are appointed under legal planning documents, such as an executor/trustee under a Will, or to assist a person under a Power of Attorney.

With health care staff having limited resources, we aim to arm you with confidence to advocate for yourself and connect you with a network of other professionals when needed. We want to make sure your needs are put first, and your voice is heard, because you matter. This may include:

  • Discussing Representation Agreements
  • Advance Care Directive Options
  • Providing valuable information and access to resources to guide you and your family
  • Information on Planning for Persons With Disabilities or facing health concerns

Our aim is to support you to take action and navigate difficult life transitions, so you and your family can feel prepared and in control.

We believe that you should have someone on your team so that you can feel empowered to show up for yourself and those who rely on you most.

"When my wife was diagnosed with Parkinsons I didn't know how to handle the paperwork or decisions ahead. The paralegal worked with me to help my wife and I set up Representation Agreements so I could have confidence in supporting my wife's wishes with the compassion she deserves. Having this in place gave us both peace of mind during such a difficult time."
